Copyblogger Report: The Outsourcing Conspiracy

conspiracy 260x125 Copyblogger Report: The Outsourcing ConspiracyI am a big fan of Brian Clark. Copyblogger.com has been a mainstay on “favorite list” and rss reader for over a year. I always look forward to reading what he writes and the content he delivers. As an added bonus his guest writers also deliver quality post after post.

He has been an influence in my writing as a blogger and I highly recommend his site to anyone.

I was a member of his membership program “Teaching Sells”  The information I found in his course helped me put together our first membership site.

Knowing that he is from Dallas too make me more of a fan-boy.

The Outsourcing Conspiracy

I was on his site recently and couldn’t help but notice that he had a graphic for a free report titled The Outsourcing Conspiracy. Oh boy! He had me hooked.

The biline even says: What the 4 Hour Work Week and Internet Marketing Gurus Aren’t Telling You About Outsourcing.

Being that this site is built around the premise that outsourcing does work (because it does) I immediately downloaded it and devoured it in about an hour.

He’s Absolutely Right!

Outsourcing is not for the new person this business. His argument is that outsourcing can lead to a lot of frustration and money being thrown away. Which it can. However his model of outsourcing is that of hiring a freelancer from services like Elance.

He goes on to say that you will find yourself consistently having to find new people and hoping that they will be available the next time you have a project to outsource.

However, the method I promote is a spin on what is written in the 4Hour Work Week. I have hired and trained someone to work for me full time.

Knowing that she will likely stick around with me gives me the confidence in knowing that I will make mistakes. It also allows me to have patience when she makes mistakes. It is just a part of life.I am able to go back to her and ask her to make some changes or simply do it all over.

Can a person that is working a full time job and learning how to me an internet marketer in their spare time afford to hire someone full-time? It is likely they can’t.  So outsourcing is not for everyone.

There I said it.

I was at the point where I had too many ideas that needed to be implemented and I just couldn’t handle it anymore. What I pay her gives me peace of mind when I am out at the park with my daughters.

So What’s Brian Clark’s Point?

Ahh, yes. You know he has to have one.

He wraps up the report by presenting the idea of Partnering instead of Outsourcing. He writes that the best proven method to be successful in business is to find a partner to work with. He has a product he is launching  called Partnering For Profits that will teach you how to do just that.

Even though he argues against what I preach, I do see his point and would recommend what he is suggesting to anyone. I believe that he will deliver the information you need to be able to find the partner you need to help you on your path to freedom.

When I got started in this business I had a partner (and still do). I was in no position to hire someone at that time.

In the process of creating the product and building the site we have learned a whole lot about the business. And being accountable to each other has helped us when times got tough. There is something to be said about building something with someone that you can count on.

So what do you do? Replace Myself or Partnering for Profits? It all depends on your time, energy, and resources.

Hey there, I actually have had much success with my outsourced employee and he knows a heck of a lot more than i do about web building, seo etc. I found him on replacemyself.com.

I guess what Tim Ferriss is promoting is that Work…being the 4-letter word it is, is just what we HAVE to do to get by. But you can do other things that can bring in income, which you chose to do, that is not work. I do think a lot of people get this confused.

I too choose to be home to see my kids grow up and I'm enjoying every minute of it. I went from running a service based business that was literally creating more and more work for myself to a web based business. I'm much much much happier now!

Hello Makenzie!
Thank you for taking time to post a comment! I was about to post a new article and saw your comment and felt bad for not replying until now! How rude! :)

It's always nice to find others that are having success to do what they truly enjoy. I have no interest or desire to do any SEO stuff. I prefer to be out and about talking and meeting people.

I am currently in San Antonio working with my partner on a web application and will be hiring a much smarter person to do it. I have found something that will allow me to build out my ideas and know that aspect of programming that I do not care to do. Brilliant!!!

Thank you again. I look forward to reading more about you and your personal journey!
